Company History
Originally named InTrust, our company was formed on March 20, 1998 as an Iowa nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation by Central Iowa Hospital Corporation (CIHC), which includes Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Visiting Nurse Services (VNS). Operations began on Oct. 1, 1998.
InTrust was formed as a vehicle through which CIHC and VNS could consolidate certain existing health care services and offer the full range of home health care services to the community. InTrust provided skilled intermittent home health care (certified), private duty, home infusion therapy, home medical equipment, and Lifeline. In September of 1998, InTrust also purchased a home care and hospice program that was previously owned by Continuum Healthcare.
In April of 1999, Iowa Health System (IHS) took over the interests of CIHC to form the arrangement that is still in place today.
In an effort to more closely align itself with Iowa Health System and its many affiliates throughout Iowa, InTrust changed its name to Iowa Health Home Care in March of 2004.
Iowa Health Home Care has experienced growth not only in the central Iowa market, but in the Sioux City market as well. In early 2006 St. Luke's Home Care in Sioux City became a part of our organization. Trinity Home Care in Fort Dodge joined us in January of 2009.
Today, Iowa Health Home Care is a full service home care agency ready to meet the many home health care needs of our patients. Our complete lineup of home health care services is unmatched by our competitors. We are a one-stop shop for home health care.
